ELM programs are popular with academic medical centers primarily because they staff higher-risk residents, have instructional mandates that must be met, and are able to use ELM programs to instantly support and meet multiple educational initiatives.

Ways to use ELM: Many of our clients also utilize ELM programs as an orientation program for residents. In addition to acting as a risk management tool for your medical staff, ELM courses can help your organization's residents meet its Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Core Competencies.

Funding Your Program: Most academic medical centers fund ELM programs through their self-funded insurance entities. If your facility is interested in considering an ELM program, you may want to consider funding through your insurance trust, captive, or risk retention group.

"It's been fun and exciting working with you on all these endeavors – we really believe it's a good thing for our residents and fellows. And, this was an extra bonus to share our accomplishments with our Dean! Thanks again – looking forward to the next rollout! "
